Description
English: Original listing and sheet music here: https://musescore.com/user/36482158/scores/21604930?from=youtube_share Tom Turpin (1871-1922) was an entrepreneur and talented pianist who was an early advocate of ragtime. His breakthrough "Harlem Rag" from 1897 was released in several editions and is his most famous work. He was also involved in various business pursuits mostly in St. Louis, where he lived most of his life, including the Rosebud Cafe, a ragtime hangout frequented by Scott Joplin. This short but effective rag was also notable and among the six rags he composed. It was published in 1900 and then picked up by Will Rossiter in Chicago in 1901.
